Just Between Us.

Shelby Nilsen's Just Between Us is a work concerning grief, and the universal ways in which it resides in interpersonal relationships.

Grief is all around us, even in the smallest of things.

How do we confront the loss of community?

How do we mourn the drifting of a friend?

How do we grieve our ever-changing psyche?

Grief is an inexorable part of the human condition.

With the use of strong imagery and tableaus, the performers of Just Between Us explore and confront the relationships that form from discomfort.

They indulge in states of being that parallel disconnection, and dissatisfaction.

The communal and solitary experience of loss is explored, as the unwieldy necessity of acceptance glares.
